Lectureships in Economic History at the University of Geneva
These positions are non-tenured but the initial three-year contract is renewable once subject to satisfactory performance. The position involves 4 hours of teaching per week at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as the supervision of Bachelor research projects and Masters theses in economic and social history. Candidates are also expected to work on their own research and publish it in the form of scholarly books or articles in academic journals. In addition, they are required to play an active role in the intellectual life of the Department and to contribute to the completion of a limited number of administrative tasks. The candidate (s) must hold a Ph.D. in the field of economic history, economics or history and have experience in doing research in the social sciences. Candidates must be fluent in both French and English. The University offers a three-year contract, renewable once for a period of 3 years maximum. The first year is a trial period during which the University is allowed to terminate the contract with a notice period of three months.

Assistant Professor in Economic and Social History, Bocconi University  
Contracts will run for up to eight years (with one paid sabbatical year and subject to renewal after the first three years), with the possibility of promotion to a tenured position by the end of the period or earlier in case of outstanding performance.
Applicants must be fluent in English. Knowledge of Italian is not required. Commitments include teaching and research. As the appointed candidate is expected to publish in international refereed journals, priority will be given to applicants with research portfolios that are international in scope.
 
Applicants should have (or be close to completing) a Ph.D. and should have demonstrated strong potential in research and teaching. Compensation and teaching load are competitive with other top European academic institutions.
